extraction (of letters)

Old rejected letters, are the base of what are these three video performances with each their installation. In extractions (of letters) the artist explores the relation between people and objects, and the importance of the object in itself.

 

Where does the object come from? What remains in the object after its use? How was the place where it was placed? These are questions the artist tries to answer by extracting as much as she can of these old letters, so she can recreate their surroundings. To then create three performances where she reads, writes, tears and sews.

extraction (of letters) was exhibited at Oslo projektrom from 26.01 - 13.02.2017. The exhibition with the same name (extraction (of letters)) showed the three video performances with an installation next to the single video projection. Each installation is composed of one or more elements of the video performance.  On the right wall of the gallery the artist handwrote a text reflecting on the meaning and value of objects.
