Simone Bredfeldt - visual artist
Simone Bredfeldt is a Chilean-German visual artist, that has moves between Germany, Mexico and Chile. Since 2010 she lives and works in Oslo, Norway.
Her artistic work has been a reflection of her live experiences and her background.
My work encompasses nostalgia, loss, belonging and identity. I create performances that I videotape and are shown as videos or video installations. Within the video performances the spectator can see a window into my soul. The reflection of an experience, a feeling, an idea.
My artistic interest revolves around what happens to people on a personal level in this globalized world; the relation between people and the matter that surrounds them; how you affect your surroundings and how these affects you.
As an artist I cannot ignore what have been my life experiences. I have lived in different countries and am therefore a Third Culture Kid/Global Nomad. This has been essential for my artistic work.
Currently she is collaborating on a project titled “Hecartism”, that seeks to create art without overthinking. The project addresses issues such as identity and transformation.
